About Tuvalu: Tuvalu, in the South Pacific, is an independent island nation within the British Commonwealth. Its 9 islands comprise small, thinly populated atolls and reef islands with palm-fringed beaches and WWII sites. Off Funafuti, the capital, the Funafuti Conservation Area offers calm waters for diving and snorkelling among sea turtles and tropical fish, plus several uninhabited islets sheltering sea birds. // Tuvalu (/tuːˈvɑːluː/ (listen) too-VAH-loo), formerly known as the Ellice Islands, is an island country in the Polynesian subregion of Oceania in the Pacific Ocean. Its islands are situated about midway between Hawaii and Australia. They lie east-northeast of the Santa Cruz Islands (which belong to the Solomon Islands), northeast of Vanuatu, southeast of Nauru, south of Kiribati, west of Tokelau, northwest of Samoa and Wallis and Futuna, and north of Fiji. Tuvalu is composed of three reef islands and six atolls. They are spread out between the latitude of 5° and 10° south and between the longitude of 176° and 180°. They lie west of the International Date Line. Tuvalu has a population of 11,204. The total land area of the islands of Tuvalu is 26 square kilometres (10 sq mi). The first inhabitants of Tuvalu were Polynesians, according to well-established theories regarding a migration of Polynesians into the Pacific that began about three thousand years ago. Long before European contact with the Pacific islands, Polynesians frequently voyaged by canoe between the islands. Polynesian navigation skills enabled them to make elaborately planned journeys in either double-hulled sailing canoes or outrigger canoes. Scholars believe that the Polynesians spread out from Samoa and Tonga into the Tuvaluan atolls, which then served as a stepping stone for further migration into the Polynesian outliers in Melanesia and Micronesia. Frequently Asked Questions

How much money do drone photographers make?

A photographer could make more or less than $10k depending upon how long he/she is flying for and where he/she takes photos. Photographers who work in remote areas, such as forests or national parks, could make upwards of $20-30 per hour.

An average person is paid $15-$25 an hr in retail. That means you could fly drones for $50-$75 if that's what you desire. There are many opportunities to make even more. Most drone pilots fly for companies that require them travel throughout the country, or internationally.

Depending on how long you fly and how far you travel, you can expect to pay $100-$300 per flight. You might find it worthwhile if flying is something you enjoy and you also love taking photos.

Where are the best places to take photos with a drone?

Drones have been a very useful tool in capturing stunning shots of nature. Whether you want close-up shots of animals like birds and butterflies or to capture beautiful scenery, drones are ideal.

Mountains, deserts lakes oceans beaches and cities are the best places to fly drones. Drone enthusiasts enjoy taking stunning photos of their surroundings and other local attractions.

If you want to see new places, it is worth shooting at night as the lights illuminate the surroundings. You could also shoot during other seasons, especially winter when snow blankets.

Can drone photography make you money?

For photographers trying to make money with drones, the biggest problem is that there aren’t any products that can solve the problems associated with them. It's not easy to enjoy the experience if you don't have quality equipment or software.

Insurance costs and liability are another concern. Most photographers prefer to photograph from the ground. However, there is an entirely new way to take pictures that can potentially earn you a commission.

Drones can capture light very much in the same way as video cameras. You can create incredible photos with the same technology.

Companies have already made great strides to create photo-quality images from above. We've previously discussed DJI and GoPro. However, more companies are entering the space.

Although these cameras were designed for aerial photography they can also be used on the ground. The major manufacturers have invested heavily in the development of their imaging technologies.

You'll soon be able buy a drone capable of taking incredible photos and 4K video. This could be already happening. Companies like DJI have been releasing higher-resolution versions of their Phantom series of drones.

DJI recently released the Inspire 2, which features a 12-megapixel sensor capable of shooting at 5120 x 3456 pixels. You can also record RAW files at 30 frames per minute, 8-bit format.

You can certainly make money from drone photos.

What are the downsides of drone photography

Drone photography offers a unique way to capture photos and video. You should be aware of the potential downsides of flying a small aircraft.

The biggest disadvantage of flying drones are their cost. It could cost you hundreds, or even thousands of dollars depending on the drone that you buy.

To fly a drone safely, you will need certification and training.

Safety is another concern. Drones are extremely dangerous because they require constant maintenance. A drone that is not controlled properly can cause serious injury to someone or damage property.

You might find that your time spent flying your drone is more productive than actually taking pictures or recording footage. Your drone might not have enough airspace to fly.

You may be restricted by local governments as to where your unmanned aerial vehicle can fly. For example, you cannot fly above 400 feet or within five miles of airports, stadiums, hospitals, prisons, schools, nuclear power plants, dams, or any military bases.

Drones may not be for everyone. Some people feel uneasy about flying these machines because they fear they might crash or fall out of the sky. Others fear that they could accidentally hit an object or person.

If flying a drone is not something you are comfortable with, you might want to stick to traditional aerial photography techniques and videography.

Statistics

  • Compared to the old days of the Phantom, this drone is super small, but it will likely require you to check a bag, the way a Mini 3 Pro could easily stow away in an oversized pocket. (thedronegirl.com)
  • Again, no stabilization is applied, and the 50% throttle stick position cuts the power to the motors. (photographypro.com)
  • A grey card is just a piece of thick paper that is a specific shade of grey (18%), which will be the foundation on which we choose our color temperature. (dronegenuity.com)
  • Greater than 50% throttle stick position generates positive thrust, but less than 50% throttle stick position reverses the direction of the motors, allowing upside-down flying! (photographypro.com)
  • Homes with aerial images sold 68% faster than homes with standard images. (alexdronephotography.com)

How To

Why do people fly drones at nights?

Two reasons people fly drones at night are curiosity and the desire to capture images.

The curiosity aspect is why most people fly drones at night, they enjoy watching the world go by. Drones are also used to take photographs of the urban landscape at night.

This is known as urban photography, and it is growing in popularity among drone enthusiasts.

Photography at night offers many benefits such as better lighting conditions, more detail, and even seeing the stars.

Many photographers prefer to shoot at night to avoid dealing with the limitations of daytime shooting.

These advantages make urban photography appealing. But, most people use drones to capture nighttime shots.

They love the way the lights look when the sun goes down. Many people are now posting videos online of drone pilots flying at night.

Although drone footage isn’t necessarily cutting-edge technology, the quality of the images is exceptional.

The best thing is that you don't need special equipment to make it happen. All you need is a smartphone camera.

You don't need a smartphone to use this feature. There are many high-quality cameras on the market that can be used to create amazing drone videos.

Some DSLR cameras offer night vision capabilities.

Canon's EOS 5D Mark III camera comes with an infrared LED system, which allows it to see even in low light conditions.

Additional manufacturers include Olympus and Pentax as well as Sony, Nikon, Olympus and Pentax.

However, not all smartphones have the ability to record drone footage.

iPhones cannot record aerial footage with their front-facing camera. Instead, they can rely only on the dual rear cameras in the iPhone 8 Plus.

After you've chosen what camera you'd prefer, you can decide where you want your video to be shot.

You have two options: you can either film your drone footage at a fixed location or you can follow your subject.

It is important that you have your subject in the frame while filming drone footage. You should aim your drone at your subject.

This range should not limit your ability to achieve great results.

When filming your drone footage, it's important to remember that the closer you are to your subject, the sharper the details will appear.

So, try to move towards your subject as quickly as possible.

Now that we know how to capture drone footage, let's discuss how to edit it.
