Gigafactory Texas on 1 September 2023! This is where Model Y’s and Cyber Truck production happens!

Here are some images from today’s flight around Giga Texas. Busy as always all over the site, with some interesting changes to cover! I was asked to reduce the number of images I upload on Patreon as I was overwhelming you with too much information, so I'm going to give it a try today.

I cannot confirm, but I've been hearing the Cybertruck production line may be down for the next few weeks for additional tooling and changes to allow production to commence. This may be why we don't see so many Cybertrucks on the site while this work is completed. Again, this is a rumor for now, but I'll monitor to see if anything changes.

The west End-of-Line facility steel structure is growing rapidly, as is the ground slab concrete pours. We see another newly poured section being leveled with riding trowel machines, while an even larger slab area is getting the last of the rebar before the next pour. Soon, the entire slab will have been poured.

A few other highlights from today’s flight include:

We see a lot of equipment, pre-assembled robotic platforms, machinery, duct work, ducted fan units and more being delivered today, much of it to the General Assembly areas of the factory. This may add more credibility to the rumors of Cybertruck production lines being down for added assembly and tooling upgrades. We also see a lot of equipment and platform items delivered to the east side of the Bode-in-White section of the building near the new receiving dock area, and this may indicate an expansion of production capability going on in that area of the factory as well.

On the northeast roof over the casting machine area of the main factory, we see four large, ducted fan units moved onto the roof via a crane. These may be attached to some of the rectangular steel mounts we saw being installed about a month or two ago on this section of the roof. It will be interesting to see how these are installed and connected to try and figure out their main purpose.

The Megapack site shows more work to connect electrical wires between the Megapacks and transformers, the concrete oil catchment around the large transformer on the north end has the wall form work and rebar completed, just waiting for the concrete pour, and more conduit work extending north and east to connect to the new electrical switchyard.

At the south end of the electrical switchyard, we see most of the underground concrete vault has had dirt filled into the trench that was used to construction the vault, while between the perimeter fence and the vault, new excavation work is underway. Nearby, crews were working on installing more conduit to square concrete vaults, preparing to complete the connection to the large underground concrete vault through some visible openings in the underground wall sections.

At the Battery Cathode plant east side where the large opening was used to assemble and move inside three 7-story tall platforms and equipment, we see beams have been placed which both signals the platform work is now completed and that we are likely to see exterior wall panels installed here soon, Nearby, the crane used for the platforms is being disassembled.

The east side multi-level parking garage construction site continues its transformation, with more earthwork on the south end to prepare for main slab construction, while on the north end, more earthwork to prepare two level areas surrounded by water drainage channels. We also see one section of the new water drainage channels has had water pumped into it, likely testing how it will operate.
