DJI Neo Drone - Flight and Photos. Drone Photography: Drone Video.
One thing that I hadn't tested, on the DJI Neo drone, was the photography part of it. I wasn't expecting perfection, with its 12MP camera, as my phone has 12MP, as well as 48MP cameras, and the 12MP on my phone can be a little noisy at times.
I decided to head to Preston Park in Eaglescliffe in order to test it out.
Firstly, I fly around the museum, the river Tees, and surround area to give you a look at what is here. The museum was closed for essential work, meaning I could safely fly the drone around the museum area. The museum has a Victorian street, as well as the main museum area, and the park has a play area for the kids, a café, as well as a skate park.
I have only flown the DJI Neo drone a handful of times so far, learning each time I fly it. If you have any tips or advice, then please leave a comment below.
I have added a LUT on the video footage and some colour correction on the photos, but it was all taken from the drone (without a filter) - Shutter at 1/60 and ISO on Auto.
I am still learning, changing settings, and trying the advice from you, that are more professional than myself. Thank you to all those who have been supportive and offered tips and advice already. It's much appreciated.
Thank you for watching.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulates drone flights. Local laws and regulations may apply, in addition to those of the FAA. For details on drone flight regulations, please contact your state's transportation agency.
Most drone owners will need to apply for a FAA licence. The FAA has set forth guidelines for licensing. Learn more about these guidelines by clicking here.
In some states, drone owners must register their drones with government. Visit our Guide to Drone Registration to learn what you need to do.
Drone photography allows you to capture stunning images and video. But there are also downsides when choosing to fly a small aircraft.
Drone flying is expensive. It can cost hundreds to thousands depending on which drone you buy.
A drone pilot must be trained and certified. This means that you will need to invest your time and money in order to learn how to safely fly them.
Safety is another issue. Drones pose a danger because they are constantly in need of repair and maintenance. A drone that is not controlled properly can cause serious injury to someone or damage property.
You might find yourself spending more time controlling a drone that actually shooting photos or filming. A drone can be difficult to fly because of limited airspace.
You can only fly your unmanned air vehicle within certain areas. You cannot fly higher than 400 feet, or within five miles of any stadiums, hospitals or schools.
Drones might not be right for everyone. People feel nervous about flying drones because they fear that they will crash into the ground or fall from the sky. Others worry that they might accidentally hit another person or object.
If you're not comfortable flying a drone, then maybe you should stick to traditional aerial photography and videography methods instead.
Drone photography is more than just flying a camera. You need to think about many things when planning and executing a drone photography shoot. From choosing the right location to determining how much insurance you need to carry out a successful aerial shoot.
It is essential to make sure you have permission to fly drones within the area you are planning to shoot. It is important to find out if there any restrictions on the areas you can fly in and where your drone may be used. If there are, you may need to apply for a license to fly them in these areas.
Also, you should check the regulations in your country. Some countries require permits to fly drones. Others limit how many flights you can make in a specific time.
In addition to obtaining permission to fly drones, you'll need to find somewhere safe and secure to land your drone after each flight. Many local businesses offer landing pads to rent for a fee. You will also get storage space. Another option is to buy a dedicated landing platform.
Before you start shooting, it is important to determine what kind of drone you would like to use. Different drones have different capabilities and features. For example, fixed-wing drones tend to cost less and are easier to control, whereas multirotor drones are more powerful and stable.
Once you decide which type of drone is best for you, the next step is to determine what equipment you will need. A drone camera typically includes a gimbal and remote controller, batteries, memory card, and batteries.
A gimbal stabilizes the camera during flight, making it easy to capture sharp images without worrying about shaking hands or dropping the device. To ensure the drone stays stable, the gimbal attaches to its body.
Remote controllers permit you to control your drone remotely. These devices have buttons and joysticks that allow you control your drone from afar.
Batteries power the drone’s motors and camera, while memory cards store photos taken with the drone. You'll need enough battery power to ensure clear pictures.
After selecting the equipment you will require, you will need to determine where you will be shooting. Do you plan to take photos outdoors or indoors? Are you going for architecture or landscape photography? Which part of the world are you going? All of these factors affect how you'll need to prepare for your shoot.
Lighting is an essential part of indoor photography. Multiple lights are the best way to illuminate a room. Place one large light near the subject, another near it, and yet another close to the floor.
When outdoors, wind conditions are important. Drone pilots can be blown off-course by windy days. It is best to take off only when it is calm.
If you are going to be bringing extra equipment like tripods or stands, consider whether this is something that you will need. These items will keep your drone stable and allow you to capture high quality images.
Outdoor shoots should be done between 10 and 4 pm. Although there won’t be as many people around at this time, it will still provide enough light for stunning photos.
A drone photographer is not just fun. They are also extremely useful for creating stunning aerial photos. By following some simple steps, you can start creating amazing images today!
