Isle of Skye photography. This week we are on the Isle of Skye, Scotland and wow what a first morning of photography we had. Superb light and colour & also the first snow of the season that we’ve seen. As the day went on we headed to Sligichan and had a costly disaster. Photography and the Isle of Skye are the perfect combination and really pleased to have witnessed and photographed such a fantastic sunrise. Looking forward to the rest of the week on the beautiful Isle of Skye. We hope you enjoy Adele & Max

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I fly my drone safely?

Flying a drone requires practice. Although drones are much more stable than regular aircraft, pilots still need to get experience. We recommend that beginners practice indoors or near their home.

To fly a drone you will need to have three fundamental skills. These are hovering, takingoff, and landing.

Take Off

The drone will take off by simply being lifted into the air. Press the button on your controller to cause the drone to move upwards. Once the drone is at a certain height stop pressing the button.

Hovering

Hovering is when the drone stays in midair. Holding down either the left or right triggers while pressing the throttle will allow you to hover. You can move the drone by tilting the controller by holding down both triggers.

Landing

Landing is returning the drone safely back to earth. To land, let go of the throttle and gently tilt the controller towards the ground. This will cause the drone's speed to drop and eventually land.

Fly your drone as comfortable as possible. Make sure you don't crash into anything.

Can drone photography make you money?

Photographers trying to make a living from drones face the greatest problem: there aren’t many products available that can solve the problems of flying them. A lack of quality equipment and software makes the experience enjoyable.

Photographers also need to consider liability and insurance. Many photographers will choose to shoot from the ground. You could get paid for your efforts if you use a totally new method of photographing images.

Drones can capture light very much in the same way as video cameras. You can create incredible photos with the same technology.

Companies are already making great strides toward creating photo-quality images taken from above. We have already discussed DJI & GoPro. Now, we are seeing more companies join the space.

These cameras are great for ground photography even though they were made for aerial photography. Major manufacturers invest heavily in their imaging technology.

This means you will eventually be able purchase a drone that can shoot 4K videos and take amazing photos. We might already be witnessing this happening. DJI is one of the companies that has started to release higher-resolution Phantom series drones.

DJI has just released the Inspire 2 with a 12-megapixel sensor that can shoot at 5120x3456 pixels. You can also record RAW files at 30 frames per minute, 8-bit format.

It is possible to make money with drone photos.

What should I know about the laws regarding drone photography?

Drone flights are regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Local laws could also be applicable to drone flights. You can check with your state's transport department to find out what rules govern drone flights.

The FAA requires drone owners to obtain a license in almost all cases. The FAA has set forth guidelines for licensing. You can learn more about these guidelines here.

Some states require drone operators to register their drones with the government. Visit our Guide to Drone Registration to learn what you need to do.

Is a camera drone worth it?

If you are serious about owning your business, then you will soon realize that a great product is vital. If you're going to put yourself out there, you better ensure you've got a killer product.

Photographers are not selling themselves. They try to convince someone else to purchase their stuff rather than convincing them to do it.

But when you're running your own company, you won't be able to afford to wait for someone else to permit you. You will have the ability to find customers today.

This means that you will need to tell a compelling story to convince them why they should choose your products over others.

You'll also need to come up with an effective strategy for marketing those products. Even after all that effort, you may still fail because your product prices are not correct.

There are two options. You might decide to charge too much. Either way, you're probably making a mistake if you don't know what you're charging.

You can avoid making these mistakes by starting to think like a businessman. You don't have to become a billionaire. This simply means that you must learn to value your money, time and effort.

It is important to create strategies that will measure the success and failure of your business.

Once you have a good understanding of pricing, you can now focus on creating the best product possible. A product that makes sense both financially and creatively.

It solves problems, and it provides real benefits.

One that is unique from the rest.

And once you've built that product, you'll be ready to launch it. And you'll be ready to build your brand.

It doesn't really matter if your goal is to fly a drone or not. It will enable you to become a professional photographer. It will allow you to enhance your skills. It will also allow you to grow your company.

What is the best way to capture drone photography?

Drone photography is more than just flying a camera. It is important to plan and execute a successful drone shooting. From finding the right location to getting enough insurance, a successful drone shoot is possible.

The most important thing to do is check to see if you have permission. This involves finding out if there are restrictions regarding where you can fly or where your drone can be operated. If you find that there are restrictions, you might need to apply for a license in order to fly them.

It is also important to verify the laws in your country. You may need a permit to fly drones in some countries. Others limit the number you can make in a given time period.

Not only will you need permission to fly drones but also where to safely land your drone after each flight. You can often rent a landing pad from local businesses, which will charge you per hour and provide you with storage space. Another option is to buy a dedicated landing platform.

Before you start shooting, it is important to determine what kind of drone you would like to use. Different drones are equipped with different capabilities. Fixed-wing drones are cheaper and easier to control, while multirotors are more powerful, stable, and reliable.

You will first have to decide on the type of drone that you want. Then, you need to decide what equipment you need. The basic equipment for a drone camera is a remote controller, gimbal, batteries, memory cards, and remote controller.

Gimbals stabilize the camera while it is in flight. This makes it easier to capture sharp images, without having to worry about dropping the device or shaking hands. To keep the camera stable, the gimbal attaches directly on the drone's body.

Remote controllers permit you to control your drone remotely. These devices come with joysticks as well as buttons that allow the drone to be moved forward, backward, left, right, or left. You can also adjust its altitude.

The batteries power the drone's cameras and motors. Memory cards store photos taken by it. You'll need enough battery power to ensure clear pictures.

After selecting the equipment you will require, you will need to determine where you will be shooting. Do you prefer to shoot outdoors or indoors? Are you going for architecture or landscape photography? What kind of places are you going to be shooting? All these factors influence the way you need to prepare for your shoot.

If you are planning on shooting inside, lighting will be an issue. Multiple lights will help lighten a room. Try placing one large light above the subject, another near the middle, and a third closer to the floor.

Wind conditions are an important consideration when you are outdoors. Windy days can cause problems for drone pilots because they can get blown off course. It is best to take off only when it is calm.

When selecting your location, think about whether you'll need to bring in extra equipment, such as tripods or stands. These items will ensure that your drone is level and stable so you don’t lose any quality shots.

Outdoor shoots should be done between 10 and 4 pm. During this time, there won't be too many people around, but there will still be enough light to create great photos.

Drone photography is not only fun, but also extremely useful in capturing breathtaking aerial photos. By following some simple steps, you can start creating amazing images today!
