I learnt my lesson, this time last year , with regards to bird photography.
"It goes extremely quiet".
So I have been trying my best to get out and try to visit some new places in the Peak District. This week I went to The Roaches. I had never been before, so I did not know what to expect.
For those of you that have followed my channel from way back, you will know that I was always on "The Chase", for some fog or mist. Well today I got it!

Look at the 3 most popular drones on Amazon Today!
There are many ways you can start taking photos with a drone. The first option is to buy a ready-made drone kit. You'll get everything you need. They vary from $200 up to $500, depending on which model.
Another option is to build your own drone. Although this can be a bit complicated, it's still possible to create something that works well enough to take some decent photos and videos.
Quadcopters are the best option for those looking to build their drone. As found on conventional helicopters, a quadcopter has four rotors (or propellers) instead of two.
It is much easier to assemble and maintain a quadcopter than a helicopter. It is also less expensive to buy and easier to transport.
You'll first need to select the right parts. You'll need motors, batteries, controllers, and props. It is important to choose the correct size and weight.
Next, decide which controller you would like to use. You have many choices, including joysticks and touch screens as well as remote controls. A drone with a built in camera is a good choice.
After you've selected the right parts, you can begin to assemble the drone. Pre-assembled kits are recommended to make it easier. But if you want to build your own drone, there are some steps you will need to follow.
Step 1: Attach your battery pack
To begin building your quadcopter, connect the battery to the motor. Remove the cover plate on the bottom side of the battery. After that, slide in the battery.
Step 2 Connect the motors
Next, you'll need to install the motors in the appropriate slots. Each motor must be placed in the appropriate slot. Install the motors facing forward, perpendicular and in the designated slot.
Step3: Install the propeller
Finally, you'll need to attach the propellers to the frame. Be sure to place them at equal distances.
After completing all these steps, you're finally ready to test your new drone! If you see no movement when you turn on the engine, double-check that the propellers are facing forward. Also, make sure that there are no obstructions between the propellers.
Drones that are easy to fly for beginners are the best. These drones are equipped with an "FPV" camera which allows the user to control the drone remotely via a smartphone app.
Some quadcopters have been specifically designed to be used for aerial photography. You might consider a multirotor model if you plan to explore more advanced features, like autonomous flight mode and obstacle avoidance.
The drones come in two price categories: low-cost ones under $100 and high-end ones over $300.
The cheapest models tend to have a limited range, battery life, and flight time. The more expensive models feature greater performance and longer flight durations.
Many beginners prefer to buy cheaper models because they are easier for them to handle and to learn how to use. If you plan on spending hours flying your drone, you might be interested in a higher-end model.
Drones can be used to capture stunning images of landscapes and nature. Drones offer the perfect solution for taking stunning photographs of nature and wildlife, as well as beautiful landscapes.
Mountains, deserts lakes oceans beaches and cities are the best places to fly drones. Drone enthusiasts love to capture picturesque views of their home and other local attractions.
Try shooting at night, when the lights illuminate the landscape. This will allow you to discover new locations. You can also try shooting during different seasons, especially winter, when snow blankets the ground.
You need to practice flying a drone. It takes time to learn how to fly drones. Practice indoors or at home is the best option for beginners.
When learning how to fly a drone, you'll need to master three basic skills. These skills include hovering, taking off and landing.
Take Off
To take off, simply lift the drone into the sky. To do this, press the button on the controller until the drone starts moving upward. After the drone reaches an appropriate height, release the button.
Hovering
Hovering is a way to keep the drone still in midair. To hover, press and hold the left or the right triggers. The drone can be tilted by pressing the throttle and both triggers.
Landing
Landing means returning the drone to earth safely. To land, release the throttle and tilt the controller downward toward the ground. This will cause the drone to slow down and eventually land.
Fly your drone as comfortable as possible. But be careful not to crash into anything.
If a drone becomes an extension of your body, then it's considered to be at a good distance. It is possible to lose sight physical boundaries of the drone if you begin to view it as a separate entity.
For drones, a good distance allows you to fully immerse your self in the environment without having to worry about where the drone is going next.
Flying close to the ground has a psychological advantage. It gives us a sense of control over our surroundings, making us feel more connected with nature.
But there is a downside too. Flying near the ground means we are exposed to wind and weather conditions that could damage the drone. How far from the ground can you fly?
It all depends on the drone that you are flying. The rule of thumb for aerial footage and filming landscapes is to hover at least 500ft above the ground.
You might limit the height of a cityscape to 1,000 feet. This will allow you to avoid obstructions like trees and buildings.
Drones are more sensitive to low-light conditions. If you are flying in the dark, you can reduce the time you spend hovering by lowering the altitude.
You should also ensure that the area where you fly is free from obstructions such as traffic signs or power lines.
You might also consider flying during the daylight rather than at night. This will help you avoid reflections from street lights and shadows.
You should also consider the size of your drone. The larger the drone, the further away it must be from the ground. For example, a large quadcopter will usually require a minimum height of 300ft.
If you're looking for amazing drone footage, make sure to look for the golden hours.
This is the time period between 3pm and 6pm. During this time, you have maximum visibility due to direct overhead sunlight.
It is also known for its "magic hour", which is perfect for capturing stunning images.
However, it is important to not fly your drone during sunrise or sunset. These times can result in poor quality footage.
Now you know how to make incredible drone videos.
