LANDSCAPE photography | Will DISASTER follow me! | Don't let it STOP you!

Landscape photography is so good for your soul, but after several weeks of equipment failure followed by very bad weather I was more anxious than ever when I headed out for a dawn shoot. Would the weather be kind or will there be an issue with my photography kit?

I'm exclusively a Medium Format photographer, the Fuji GFX100 being my camera of choice. Wide and ultra-wide angle seascapes are my passion.

I specialise in large format print focusing on creating fine art images best viewed on a wall.

Frequently Asked Questions

What drone is the best for shooting photos?

Drones are a fascinating technology that can be used in many ways. They can be used to take aerial photos, make movies, or even deliver packages. What is the secret to drones being such a useful tool for us? Drones are becoming increasingly popular due to two main reasons. They are versatile and easy to use. There are many uses for drones. This means you can use them to do almost any type of task you normally use a camera for. Secondly, they are very easy to operate. You already know how easy it is to fly quadcopters if you've flown one before.

Amazing images are another reason drones are so useful. The drone can take amazing photos of places you may not usually visit. These include remote areas where you could potentially fall into dangerous situations.

Drones have a simple operation, so anyone can fly them. Once you master the basics, you can use your drone to shoot incredible photos wherever you may be. If you're interested in better photos, take a look at our drone range.

Which drone can be used to carry a DSLR?

Drones are becoming more useful for everyday tasks. Already, drones are equipped with cameras capable of aerial photography.

Drones have been around for many years but most people don't use them because they aren’t practical. Most drones are too expensive, noisy, and hard to control.

Drone-A1 was born. This quadcopter is the first to be fully autonomous and specifically designed for photographers.

The Drone-A1's HD camera can take amazing photos and videos. The Drone-A1 can follow a subject without human intervention thanks to its powerful onboard computer.

This means you can focus entirely on capturing great images while the Drone-A1 takes care of flying, hovering, and following your subject.

Smart Follow makes it easy to get amazing shots using the Drone-A1. Point the Drone-A1 toward your subject. It will automatically track them and maintain distance between you.

The Drone-A1 will give you freedom and convenience while shooting. No longer will you need to worry about having a steady hand or knowing exactly where your subject is going.

The Drone- A1 has a GPS integrated that allows you and your family to share your pictures. You can view all of your photos anywhere you are in the world.

The Drone-A 1 is the perfect drone for professional photographers and amateurs alike.

Is it possible to make money from drone photography?

A lack of products to solve the problems inherent in flying drones is the biggest obstacle for photographers looking to make money from them. It's not easy to enjoy the experience if you don't have quality equipment or software.

You also have to worry about insurance costs and liability issues, so most photographers will stick to taking pictures from the ground. But we're talking about an entirely new way of capturing images where you could potentially get paid for your efforts.

Drones work in the same way that video cameras do by capturing light. So why not use the same technology to create amazing photos?

Companies are making huge strides towards creating high-quality photos taken from the sky. We've already talked about DJI and GoPro. But now we're starting to see more and more companies enter the space.

These cameras can be used for aerial photography but are also very useful on the ground. Major manufacturers invest heavily in their imaging technology.

This means you can eventually buy a drone which shoots 4K videos, and takes amazing photographs. This may be happening already. DJI has been releasing higher-resolution versions for their Phantom series drones.

DJI's Inspire 2 recently came out with a 12-megapixel sensor, capable of shooting at 5120x3456 Pixels. You can also record RAW files at 30 frames per minute, 8-bit format.

So yes, you can make money off of drone photos.

How can I fly my drone safely?

It takes practice to fly a drone. Drones are more stable than regular aircraft but it takes practice to become proficient. We recommend that beginners practice indoors or near their home.

There are three essential skills that you need to know in order to fly a Drone. These skills include hovering, taking off and landing.

Take Off

The drone will take off by simply being lifted into the air. Once the drone is moving upward, hold down the button on the controller. Stop pushing the button when the drone reaches a desired height.

Hovering

Hovering is a way to keep the drone still in midair. To hover, hold down the right or left trigger while pressing on the throttle. Tilt the controller to move the drone. Hold down both triggers.

Landing

Landing is the act of returning the drone safely to earth. To land, release the throttle. Then tilt the controller toward the ground. This will cause the drone's speed to drop and eventually land.

If you feel confident flying your drone, then take it outside. But be careful not to crash into anything.

  • Here's proof: according to an analysis of FAA drone registration numbers by drone market research and data group Drone Industry Insights, DJI had a 76.8% market share in the U.S. (thedronegirl.com)
  • Compared to the old days of the Phantom, this drone is super small, but it will likely require you to check a bag, the way a Mini 3 Pro could easily stow away in an oversized pocket. (thedronegirl.com)

How To

Why do people fly drones at night?

Drones are used by night-flyers for two reasons.

Drone pilots love to observe the world around them. But there is also another reason for flying drones at night: to capture images of the city landscape.

This is known as urban photography, and it is growing in popularity among drone enthusiasts.

There are many benefits to taking photos at night, such as capturing more detail, better lighting conditions, and even the stars.

Many photographers prefer night photography to avoid the constraints of daytime photography.

These benefits make urban photography attractive, but people fly drones at night to capture stunning nighttime scenes.

They love the way the lights look when the sun goes down. So much so that many people have started making videos of themselves flying drones at night and posting them online.

Although the drone footage technology isn’t very cutting edge, it is an amazing example of high-quality imagery.

The best thing about this is that it can be done yourself without the need for special equipment. All you need is a smartphone with a camera.

Of course, if you don't own a smartphone, then that's fine. The market has many great cameras, so you can make amazing drone videos.

Some DSLR cameras offer night vision capabilities.

Canon's EOS 5D Mark III camera comes with an infrared LED system, which allows it to see even in low light conditions.

Other manufacturers include Pentax, Pentax and Olympus.

But not all smartphones can capture drone footage.

iPhones' front-facing cameras cannot be used to capture aerial footage. Instead, they can rely only on the dual rear cameras in the iPhone 8 Plus.

After you have decided on the type of camera you would like, you will need to choose where to shoot your video.

You have two options: you can either film your drone footage at a fixed location or you can follow your subject.

When filming your drone footage, you should ensure that your subject is visible in the frame. This means you must keep your drone within easy reach of your subject.

This range should not limit your ability to achieve great results.

It is important to keep in mind that the closer your subject is to you, the sharper your footage will appear.

Try to make your subject move as fast as you can.

Now that we know how to capture drone footage, let's discuss how to edit it.
