Acorn to Arabella started as a wooden boat building project in Granby, Massachusetts. Steve began the journey as an amateur wooden boat builder crafting a 38' wooden sailboat in his backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and now sailing the boat—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that traditional wooden boats command. Drone flight regulation is regulated by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In addition to the FAA regulations, local laws may also apply. To find out which drone flight rules apply to your state, check with the transportation department.

There are many options for starting to photograph with a drone. First, you can buy a pre-made drone kit. This kit will contain everything you need for getting started. They vary in price from $200 to $500 depending upon the model.
Another option is to build your own drone. Although this can be a bit complicated, it's still possible to create something that works well enough to take some decent photos and videos.
If you are interested in building your drone, we recommend you begin with a quadcopter. A quadcopter, like conventional helicopters has four propellers or rotors instead of the usual two.
A quadcopter is simpler to assemble than a helicopter. It is also less expensive to buy and easier to transport.
First, you'll need to choose the right parts. You'll need motors, batteries, controllers, and props. You should choose the right size and weight.
Next, choose the controller that you want to use. There are many different options, including touch screens, joysticks, and remote controllers. It is recommended to buy one with a builtin camera so that you don't need to attach another device to your drone.
Once you have selected the correct parts, it's time to assemble your drone. A preassembled kit is a great option to save time and make things simpler. However, if you prefer to build your own, you'll need to follow a few steps before assembling your drone.
Step 1 Attach the battery pack
To start building your quadcopter you'll first need to connect it to the motor. Remove the cover plate on the bottom side of the battery. Slide the battery into its place.
Step2: Connect the motors
Next, install the motors into the correct slots. Each motor must go into its designated slot. Install the motors facing forward, perpendicular and in the designated slot.
Step 3: Install the propeller
Finally, you'll need to attach the propellers to the frame. Remember to position them at equal distances apart.
You are now ready to test the drone. If the drone doesn't move when you turn it on, make sure the propellers face forward. Also, ensure that there aren’t obstructions between propellers.
It is easy to fly a drone, and the best drones for beginners. These include drones equipped with an FPV (first-person view) camera, allowing users to control the drone via a smartphone app remotely.
Some quadcopters are designed specifically for aerial photography. You might consider a multirotor model if you plan to explore more advanced features, like autonomous flight mode and obstacle avoidance.
The drones come in two price categories: low-cost ones under $100 and high-end ones over $300.
The cheapest models typically have a limited range or battery life. The most expensive models, however, offer greater performance and longer flight time.
Many beginners prefer to buy cheaper models because they are easier for them to handle and to learn how to use. However, you may consider purchasing a higher-end model if you plan to spend hours flying your drone.
That's the right answer. But we've been doing it for years now. We have been taking photos at night for many decades.
There's a catch. Night photography requires sophisticated equipment. You can't do it with a camera that costs less then $10k.
When light strikes an object, it bounces back in various wavelengths.
These wavelengths combine to create white light at very distant distances from the source.
This is why your eyes can see colors even if the sun is many millions of miles away.
On the contrary, when light strikes an object close to its source, it reflects in a narrow band of wavelengths. These wavelengths bounce right back to us without overlapping.
That means that the closer the object is, the brighter it appears. This is why objects seem to glow when they are exposed to black light.
The energy the object absorbs influences how much light is reflected. The object may reflect more red light than blue light when it is hit by light.
The human eye is more sensitive to blue light than objects, so objects appear bluer when they are viewed under blacklight.
This is what drones have to do. A very bright light source is required if you are trying to capture dark areas, such as a forest, or cave.
A regular lamp will not be powerful enough for the illumination of the entire scene. It will only give you a shadowed image and nothing else.
You will need a strobe if you want to take great photos. It's not practical to have a bulky flashgun around, so it's best to get a small one.
Because they produce flashes that are so rapid, these lights are often called speedlights.
You can see the light pulse across your screen when we say "stroboscopic". The picture will be better quality if it moves at a faster rate.
We won't cover how to set-up a Speedlight. But you can find many tutorials online.
We'll tell you, to get a clear shot, ensure that your subject is well lit.
You should aim the beam at a 45 degree angle to achieve this. You can adjust intensity by moving the flashgun head.
Once you've found the perfect setting, keep the gun steady and press the shutter release button.
Once the flash has reached the subject's area, press the shutter yet again. This will fire another flashgun burst.
The first burst is the most visible, and the second captures the moment after the burst has ended.
The end result is a continuous exposure with both bursts light and recorded.
Now that we know how to capture images during the daylight, let's learn how to do night photography.
I've covered everything you need about night photography.
However, there is still one thing that needs to be addressed: the color balance.
Most people assume that all images taken at nights will be too dark.
That's true, but the same applies to daytime photos.
It doesn't matter whether you're taking pictures at dawn or dusk; the camera will always record a darker image.
Two reasons people fly drones at night are curiosity and the desire to capture images.
The curiosity aspect is why most people fly drones at night, they enjoy watching the world go by. But there is also another reason for flying drones at night: to capture images of the city landscape.
Urban photography is becoming more popular among drone enthusiasts.
Photographing at night has many benefits, including capturing more detail and better lighting conditions.
Many photographers prefer shooting at night because they are able to avoid the limitations of daytime photography.
These benefits make urban photography attractive, but people fly drones at night to capture stunning nighttime scenes.
They love the way the lights look when the sun goes down. Many people now post videos of themselves flying drones at midnight and upload them online.
The drone footage's technology isn’t cutting-edge, but the quality is amazing.
The best part? You don't need any special equipment. You only need a smartphone camera.
If you don't have a smartphone, that's perfectly fine. You can create great drone videos with the many high-quality cameras that are available today.
If you're looking to purchase a DSLR camera, you'll find that some models offer night vision capabilities.
Canon's EOS5D III has an infrared LED-system that allows it can see in low-light conditions.

However, not all smartphones have the ability to record drone footage.
