This my friends is the first attempt to make the mold for the Tally Ho capstan. I get half way into this only to realize this is more than Josie, Dollar and I can handle. As with any mold we make for the first time, things don't always go as planned and like this capstan, the plan is made and changed every minute as we experiment to see what works best.
I want to thank Eddie and Sam for dropping what they were doing to help finish this first attempt, especially with very late notice.

Frequently Asked Questions

What drone should I buy for a beginner?

The best drones for beginners are those that do not require any special skills to fly them. These drones are equipped with an "FPV" camera which allows the user to control the drone remotely via a smartphone app.

Some quadcopters have been specifically designed to be used for aerial photography. You might consider a multirotor model if you plan to explore more advanced features, like autonomous flight mode and obstacle avoidance.

There are two types in price of drones: cheap drones under $100, and more expensive drones over $300.

The cheapest models often have limited range and battery life. But the best models are more reliable and can fly longer distances.

Because they are easier to control and operate, most beginners choose to purchase cheaper models. You might want to spend hours flying your drone, so you might look into purchasing a more expensive model.

Can drones take night photos?

Yes. We've been doing this for many years. We've been taking pictures at night for decades.

But there's a catch. Night photography requires specialist equipment. Any camera under $10k is not capable of night photography.

When light hits an object, it bounces back in a series of wavelengths.

These wavelengths can be combined to form white light over very long distances.

This is why you can still see colors in the distance even though the sun may be millions of kilometers away.

Contrary to popular belief, light that strikes objects close to their source reflects in a narrow range of wavelengths. These wavelengths bounce right back to us without overlapping.

That means that the closer the object is, the brighter it appears. This is why objects appear to glow under black light.

The energy that an object absorbs will determine how much light is reflected. If light hits an object, it may reflect less red light than more blue.

The human eye is sensitive to blue light the most so objects appear brighter when viewed in black light.

So what does this have to do with drones? Use a very bright light source to photograph dark places, such a forest or cave.

A regular lamp will not be powerful enough for the illumination of the entire scene. It will only create a shadowed scene.

If you want a good picture, you'll need to use a strobe instead. A small flashgun is better than a big one, as you don't need it.

These lights are also known as speedlights, because they emit flashes so fast they create a stroboscopic effect.

When we say "stroboscopic," you can watch the light pulse across the screen. The better the picture, the faster the rate.

This tutorial will not cover how to install a Speedlight. But there are plenty of tutorials online.

We will tell you to make sure that the subject is properly illuminated in order for a clear photograph.

You should aim the beam at a 45 degree angle to achieve this. You can adjust the light's intensity by moving the flashgun's head.

Once you have set the setting that is right for you, hold the gun steady as the shutter release button is pressed.

Then, just before the light reaches the subject, press the shutter again. This will set off the flashgun to start a second burst.

The subject is illuminated by the first burst, but the second will capture what happens after that burst.

The result is continuous exposure, where both bursts are recorded.

Now that we know how to capture images during the daylight, let's learn how to do night photography.

So far, I have told you everything you need to know about photographing things at night.

One thing is left to cover, however: the color harmony.

Most people assume that all images taken at nights will be too dark.

It's true. But it also applies to daytime photographs.

It doesn't really matter if you take photos at dawn or dusk, the camera will always capture a darker image.

Is a drone worth the money?

If you're serious about starting your own business, you'll eventually realize there's nothing more important than having a great product. If you plan to promote your business, make sure you have a great product.

Many photographers don't know how to sell themselves. They try to convince someone else to purchase their stuff rather than convincing them to do it.

But when you're running your own company, you won't be able to afford to wait for someone else to permit you. You'll have to go out and find customers right now.

That means you'll need to create a compelling story that helps them figure out why they should buy your products instead of somebody else's.

The strategy you use to market these products will also be important. However, you might fail to properly price your products even after all that.

There are two options. Sometimes you might charge too little. You're likely to make a mistake regardless of which way you go.

This will help you avoid making costly mistakes. This doesn't necessarily mean that you need to be a capitalist. What it means is that you must learn how to value your time, money, and effort.

And you need to develop strategies for measuring the success of your business.

Once you've got a handle on pricing, you can finally focus on building the best possible product. A product that makes financial and creative sense.

A product that solves your problems and gives you real benefits.

One that stands apart from the rest.

You'll be ready to launch your product once you've created it. Your brand will be built.

It doesn't matter if you are a professional photographer or amateur, a drone is able to take amazing photos. It will make it easier to start your career as a photographer. It will improve your skills. You can also grow your company.

What are the drawbacks to drone photography?

Drone photography is an exciting way to capture images and video footage. You must be aware that small aircraft can have their downsides.

The most obvious disadvantage of flying drones is the cost involved. You can spend hundreds, thousands or even millions depending on the drone you choose.

Flying a drone requires training and certification, so you'll need to invest time and money to learn how to operate them safely.

Safety is another problem. Drones are extremely dangerous because they require constant maintenance. It is possible to injure or cause property damage by losing control of your drone while you are taking photos.

It is possible that you spend more time flying a drone than taking photos or filming footage. In addition, you may have limited airspace where you can fly your drone.

You may be restricted by local governments as to where your unmanned aerial vehicle can fly. For example, you can not fly above 400ft or within five mile of any local airports, stadiums and hospitals.

Drones aren’t for everyone. Flying these machines is not for everyone. Some fear they might fall or crash out of the sky. Others fear that they could accidentally hit an object or person.

You might be uncomfortable flying a drone. Instead, you can try traditional aerial photography or videography.

How To

What is the optimal distance for a drone's flight?

The best distance for a drone to travel is when it becomes an extension or part of you. It is possible to lose sight physical boundaries of the drone if you begin to view it as a separate entity.

A good distance for a drone allows you to immerse yourself in the environment without worrying about where the drone is going next.

The psychological benefit of flying close to ground is also evident. This gives us more control over our environment, which makes us feel closer to nature.

There are downsides, however. The drone could be damaged if it is flying too close to the ground. How far away can you fly?

It all depends on what type of drone you're flying. You should aim to fly at least 500 feet above the ground if you're trying to capture aerial footage or film landscapes.

If you're shooting a cityscape, for example, it might be advisable to keep the distance at 1,000 feet. You can avoid trees and buildings that could block your view.

Because drones struggle in low-light conditions, this is why. To reduce hovering time when flying in the darkness, lower the altitude.

Also, ensure your area is clear from any obstructions, such as power lines or traffic signs.

You may also want to consider flying during the day instead of at night. This avoids reflections caused shadows and street lights.

Another thing to think about is the size of the drone itself. The closer the drone is to the ground, the greater its size. For example, a large quadcopter usually requires a minimum height of 300 feet.

For great drone footage, look for the golden hour.

This is when you have maximum visibility between 3pm-6pm. You have the best visibility due to the direct overhead sun.

It is also known for its "magic hour", which is perfect for capturing stunning images.

However, it is important to not fly your drone during sunrise or sunset. These times can cause poor-quality footage.

Now you know how to make incredible drone videos.
