Insurance costs and liability are another concern. Most photographers prefer to photograph from the ground. We're talking about a new way to capture images that could lead to you being paid.
Drones are very much like video cameras in how they capture light. Why not make amazing photos with the same technology?

To fly a drone you will need to have three fundamental skills. These are taking off, hovering and landing.
Take Off
You simply lift the drone up into the air by taking off. Press the button on your controller to cause the drone to move upwards. Once the drone reaches a certain height, stop pushing the button.
Hovering
Hovering is when the drone stays in midair. Holding down either the left or right triggers while pressing the throttle will allow you to hover. The drone can be tilted by pressing the throttle and both triggers.
Landing
Landing is when the drone returns safely to the earth. To land, release the throttle. Then tilt the controller toward the ground. The drone will eventually slow down, and then land.
Flying your drone is a matter of comfort. Make sure you don't crash into anything.
Two main types of cameras are commonly used when making time-lapses: DSLRs (Digital Single Lens Reflex), that are usually more expensive than point and shoot digital cameras.
DSLR cameras produce images that are more high-quality due to how light enters them. These cameras aren't great for shooting video as they require manual focus or exposure settings.
For beginners, point-and-shoot cameras such as the GoPro are simpler to use. However, videos with lower resolutions look grainy.
The best camera for time-lapsing is a consumer drone. These tiny flying robots are a popular alternative to professional drones.
A drone is a remote control aircraft that flies autonomously without human intervention. Quadcopter drones can have multiple propellers, but a drone usually uses one propeller.
In addition to providing aerial footage, a drone can capture cinematic shots from a bird's eye view. For smooth handheld footage, drones may be outfitted to include a gimbal stabilizer.
You can create a time lapse by recording the drone above your subject. If the sun is not directly overhead, the sky will not appear dark during the shot.
To achieve the desired effect, you can adjust the aperture and shutter speed. To capture a sunset, you might set the shutter speed at 30 seconds, and open the aperture wide to let in as much natural sunlight as possible.
For night shots, the opposite approach would be taken. You can reduce light entering your camera by slowing the shutter speed to 1/second and closing the aperture. This creates bright images that show details.
