Best Book Ever Written?

Let me give you the hard truth about filters. I'm pretty sure the filter companies won't be too happy about me telling you this, but it's the truth. I kiss goodbye to many lucrative sponsorship deals.

There's really only one filter that I think you need for landscape photography in about 90% of scenarios and it's really rather dull and unexciting.

I go out on location to explain my philosophy on filters for landscape photography and I'm lucky enough to capture a spectacular moment of magical light while doing it.

Let me show you examples of why and how I used the filters that I use and one of the benefits of having a Youtube channel. I'll also explain the filters I never use and why they don't make sense for my type of landscape photographer.

I give you a practical demonstration of how I use 10-stop neutral density filters in extremely rare cases for certain types of shots. Things go well and I almost sound professional but then I start talking to an imaginary voice over my shoulder and lose all credibility.

Hit play, then hit like.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do you require for drone photography

Drone photography involves more than simply flying a camera. When planning and executing a drone shoot, there are many things to take into consideration. From choosing the right location to determining how much insurance you need to carry out a successful aerial shoot.

The most important thing to do is check to see if you have permission. This includes finding out what restrictions apply to where and how your drone can be operated. If you find that there are restrictions, you might need to apply for a license in order to fly them.

You should also check which regulations are in place in your particular country. Some countries require permits for drone flying. Others restrict the number and duration of drone flights.

Not only will you need permission to fly drones but also where to safely land your drone after each flight. You can rent a landing spot from local businesses for around $10 per hour. Also, you will have storage space. Or, you can buy a dedicated landing area.

Before you begin to shoot, you will need to decide which drone you want. Different drones offer different capabilities and features. Fixed-wing drones, for example, are less expensive and more controllable, while multirotor drones, on the other hand, are more powerful and stable.

You will first have to decide on the type of drone that you want. Then, you need to decide what equipment you need. The equipment required to operate a drone camera includes a remote controller and gimbal as well as batteries and memory cards.

Gimbals stabilize the camera while it is in flight. This makes it easier to capture sharp images, without having to worry about dropping the device or shaking hands. To ensure the drone stays stable, the gimbal attaches to its body.

Remote controllers enable you to pilot your drone remotely. These remote controllers include joysticks or buttons that allow you to move your drone forwards, backwards, left, right, and adjust its altitude.

Batteries power the drone’s motors and camera, while memory cards store photos taken with the drone. You'll need enough battery power to ensure clear pictures.

Once you've chosen the equipment that you need, it's time to plan where you want to shoot. Are you going to be shooting indoors or outside? Are you going to be shooting landscapes or architecture? Which part of the world are you going? All these factors influence the way you need to prepare for your shoot.

If you are planning on shooting inside, lighting will be an issue. Multiple lights will help lighten a room. Place one large light near the subject, another near it, and yet another close to the floor.

You need to take into account wind conditions when outdoors. Drone pilots can be blown off-course by windy days. It is best to take off only when it is calm.

Think about whether extra equipment is needed when choosing your location. These items will keep your drone stable and allow you to capture high quality images.

For an outdoor shoot, it's advisable to work between 10 am and 4 pm. This time there won't many people, but enough light will allow for great photos.

To conclude, drone photography isn't just fun and incredibly useful for capturing stunning aerial photographs. You can create amazing images by following a few simple steps.

This allows you to focus solely on the capture of great images, while Drone-A1 does all the flying, hovering and following your subject.

Amazing shots can be captured with the Drone-A1 thanks to Smart Follow. Point the Drone-A1 at your subject and it will automatically track and keep you separated.

You'll have complete freedom and ease when shooting with the Drone-A1. There's no need to be a steady hand or know where your subject is.

The Drone- A1 also comes with a GPS built-in that allows you share your photos with friends and family. You can share your pictures with anyone around the globe.

Which time of the day is best to take drone photos?

A drone could capture images from the air during sunset and sunrise hours, even though there is not much activity at ground level.

Drones make great tools for photographing beautiful landscapes and the skies above them. You might not be able to capture spectacular night views because drones are not allowed to fly at night.

Take advantage of the sunrise and sunset hours to capture great photo opportunities. You have more chances to capture breathtaking shots of nature during these times because there are fewer cars driving and fewer people around.

Also, you'll find yourself shooting at lower light levels. This makes it easier to capture images without worrying about overexposing them.

In addition, you won't have to deal with strong winds, rain, snow, or fog. These are all factors that make daylight great for photography with a drone.

You can capture nighttime scenes by flying at night. This will allow you to see the cityscape from a different perspective.

How do I get started with drone photography?

There are several ways to start photographing using a drone. The first option is to buy a ready-made drone kit. This will include everything you need to get started. They vary in price from $200 to $500 depending upon the model.

Other options include building your drone. Although this is not an easy task, it is possible to still create a drone capable of taking decent photos and videos.

We recommend that you start with a quadcopter if you want to build your own drone. A quadcopter, like conventional helicopters has four propellers or rotors instead of the usual two.

A quadcopter takes less time to assemble, and is more reliable than a traditional helicopter. It is also more affordable to buy and easier for you to transport.

You'll first need to select the right parts. Motors, batteries, controllers and props will all be required. It is important to choose the correct size and weight.

Next, decide which controller you would like to use. Many different types are available, such as joysticks, touch screens, and remote controls. A drone with a built in camera is a good choice.

Once you've picked the right parts you can start assembling your drone. We recommend purchasing a pre-assembled kit to make things easier. If you would prefer to build your drone yourself, there are a few things you need to do.

Step1: Attach the battery pack

You'll need to connect the battery pack to the motor to start building your quadcopter. Remove the cover plate on the bottom side of the battery. After that, slide in the battery.

Step2: Connect your motors

Next, mount the motors to the right slots. Each motor must be in its assigned slot. When installing the motors, make sure they face forward and are perpendicular to the frame.

Step 3: Install the propeller

Attach the propellers to your frame. Place them at an equal distance.

You are now ready to test the drone. If the engine does not move, ensure that the propellers are facing forward. Make sure there aren't any obstructions between the propellers.

Once you have determined the type of camera that you want, you need to decide where to record your video.

You could either choose to film your drone footage from a fixed spot or you could follow your subject.
