The 2023 FAI World Drone Racing Championships have officially commenced with a spectacular light show involving 600 drones at the stadium of the Namwon Sports Town complex, Jeollabuk-do, Korea on 6 October. The event is part of the World Drone Festa taking place in Namwon, Korea, from 6 to 9 October 2023. The Championship is the biggest competition of its kind with a total of 115 competitors. The World Drone Festa also includes the final of the 2023 FAI e-Drone Racing Cup in which 32 pilots will compete for cash prizes and visitors to the event are also be able to watch the Korean FAI Drone Soccer Open International Cup, which will feature 70 competitors in two categories.
