Abuja is a planned city built mainly in the 1980s based on a master plan by a consortium of three American planning and architecture firms.
Abuja replaced Lagos as the capital city of Nigeria on the 12th of December 1991, and it is the eighth most populous city in Nigeria. It is Located in the centre of the country within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
