Part 2 county level update in California: Housing supply in California is rising rapidly as more homeowners are choosing to list their homes for sale AND closed home sales are remaining at low levels which is contributing to the increase in housing supply. Additionally, all of the counties in California that the CA Association of Realtors tracks have more homes for sale now than they did a year ago, including 3 counties that are up by more than 100%.
In regards to home prices, the median sale price in March 2025 is higher than it was a year ago in about 75% of the state but 25% of California counties are down year-over-year.
