You have many options to begin photographing with a drone. You can start by buying a drone kit. This will include everything you need to get started. They vary from $200 up to $500, depending on which model.
The other option is to build your drone. Although this can be a bit complicated, it's still possible to create something that works well enough to take some decent photos and videos.
For those who want to try building their drone, we recommend starting with a quadcopter. The quadcopter is similar to conventional helicopters but has four rotors (or propellers), instead of just two.
A quadcopter can be assembled and maintained in a much shorter time than a helicopter. It's also cheaper to purchase and easier to carry around.
First, you'll need to choose the right parts. Motors, batteries and controllers are all required. Pick the correct size, weight and type.
Next, you need to choose what type of controller to use. Many different types are available, such as joysticks, touch screens, and remote controls. A drone with a built in camera is a good choice.
Once you've made your selections, you are ready to assemble it. Preassembled kits make life easier. However, you can also build your own drone by following a few steps.
Step 1: Attach battery pack
To build your quadcopter, you will need to connect the battery pack and the motor. To start, remove the cover from the battery pack. After that, slide in the battery.
Step2: Connect the motors
Next, you'll need to install the motors in the appropriate slots. Each motor must be placed in the appropriate slot. When installing the motors, make sure they face forward and are perpendicular to the frame.
Step 3: Install the propeller
Attach the propellers to your frame. You should position them at equal distances.

There is one catch. Night photography requires specialized equipment. With a camera costing less than $10k, there is no way to do night photography.
The wavelengths of light that bounce back from objects when they are hit by light can vary.
These wavelengths merge to form white light at long distances from source.
This is why your eyes can see colors even if the sun is many millions of miles away.
However, when light strikes an object near its source, it reflects within a narrow band wavelengths. These wavelengths bounce right back to us without overlapping.
That means that the closer the object is, the brighter it appears. This is why objects can glow under black lights.
The energy the object absorbs influences how much light is reflected. Therefore, if light hits an object, it might reflect more blue than red light.
Blue light is the most sensitive for the human eye. Therefore, objects that are viewed under black lights will look more blue.
This has to do with drones. You need a bright light source if you want to photograph dark objects, such as caves or forests.
A normal lamp won't provide enough light to illuminate the entire scene. It will only create a shadowed scene.
A strobe is better for taking great pictures. And since you don't want to carry around a huge flashgun, you'll need to buy a small one.
These lights are known as speedlights because they produce flashes of light so fast that they create a stroboscopic effect.
When we say "stroboscopic," you can watch the light pulse across the screen. The better the picture, the faster the rate.

We will tell you to make sure that the subject is properly illuminated in order for a clear photograph.
The beam should be aimed at a 45° angle in order to achieve this. You can adjust the light's intensity by moving the flashgun's head.
Once you have found the right setting, hold the gun steady while pressing the shutter release button.
Then, just before the light reaches the subject, press the shutter again. This will trigger the flashgun to fire another burst of light.
The first burst is the most visible, and the second captures the moment after the burst has ended.
The result is continuous exposure, where both bursts are recorded.
Now you know how to take pictures during the day, let's move on to night photography.

Most people assume that any images taken at night will look too dark.
It's true. But it also applies to daytime photographs.
It doesn't really matter if you take photos at dawn or dusk, the camera will always capture a darker image.

If you want to create a timelapse, record while the drone hovers just above your subject. If the sun isn’t directly overhead, the sky won’t appear darken during the shot.
The aperture and shutter speed can be adjusted to create the desired effect. For example, you could set your shutter speed to 30 seconds for a sunset shot and keep the aperture wide open in order to capture as much natural daylight as possible.
The opposite approach should be used for night shots. To reduce light entering the camera's sensor, set the shutter speed at 1 second. This produces a bright image that makes details visible.
